Frequently asked questions

How often should I take class?

There’s no universal rule. For many people, 2–3 classes per week create the fastest learning curve and strongest results. If Pilates is part of a broader fitness routine, a lighter schedule may be ideal. And rest days are just as important as training days. Your instructor can help you find the rhythm that fits your goals.

How will my body change from doing Pilates?

Results vary depending on goals, consistency, and overall lifestyle. Instead of promising a single outcome, here’s what our clients have shared about their experience:

“Every time I leave class I feel stronger and taller. My posture has changed, my core fires faster, and I move through my day with so much more ease.”

“The instructors pay attention to every detail. Their micro-adjustments helped reduce the discomfort I was feeling, and I’m finally building strength without aggravating old injuries.”

“I noticed real changes within the first week—better core engagement, more stability, and a surprising boost in coordination.”

“Classes make me feel capable. I’ve gained confidence, strength, and a sense that I can handle workouts I used to be intimidated by.”

“I used to think workouts were either fun or good for me. These classes are both—I leave feeling stronger, clearer, and genuinely excited to come back.”

Who are private sessions for? What are some use cases for private?

Private Sessions are for anyone looking for individualized attention, deeper technique, or tailored programming.

Common scenarios include:

• Getting back into exercise and wanting confidence before joining group classes

• Navigating injuries, medical concerns, or mobility limitations

• Wanting detailed form correction and personal progression

• Preferring a quieter studio environment

• Being referred by a Physical Therapist

• Cross-training as an athlete

Joseph Pilates originally intended apparatus work to be done 1:1 or in very small groups. We find Privates to be incredibly effective for personalized growth.

Can my teenager join me? What’s the minimum age?

Because our classes move quickly and require focus and body awareness, anyone under 18 must begin with at least one Private Session. This ensures familiarity with the equipment and safety. If cleared by the instructor, we’ll update their account so they can join group classes.

What’s the difference between Intro to Core Havn, Core Classics, and Full Body Connect?

All our reformer classes share the same foundation: strength, muscular endurance, mobility, alignment, and stability. We blend Classical Pilates principles with Modern Strength Training so every class leaves you feeling strong, supported, and successful.

Intro to Core Havn

Designed for those newer to Pilates, to the reformer, or simply wanting more guidance. Your instructor will walk you through the equipment, offer clear cues, and move at a slightly slower pace to help build excellent form. If you have injuries, medical concerns, or cannot hold a modified plank, please reach out so we can support you.

Core Classics

A modern approach to classical Pilates sequences. Expect more lying, kneeling, and controlled transitions—none of which mean “easy.” The thoughtful flow often fits in more work before stretching, giving you a steady burn and a strong finish.

Full Body Connect

Our signature strength-forward class. Expect abs, glutes, legs, arms, and obliques all connected back to the powerhouse. Crunches, planks, lunges, squats, curls, rows—this class ties core stability to limb strength for an empowering sweat that fuels the rest of your day.

Do I have to take an Intro class before taking other classes?

No. If you’re active and comfortable jumping into a group class, join any class that fits your schedule. If you want more dedicated guidance, starting with an Intro class is a great choice.

Is Pilates safe during pregnancy?

Generally, yes—if Pilates was already part of your routine before pregnancy. Most medical providers recommend continuing familiar movement formats. If Pilates is new to you, please consult your medical provider first so you can move safely and confidently.
